Reader, Meet Author
Adam Steiner worked in various NHS institutions until his last hospital was closed down. He now writes words for a living.
Politics of the Asylum was written as a Pop-Art novel about the declining future of the NHS with the hospital in the book standing as a metaphor for the rapidly altering states of the UK.
The idea behind the Pop-Art novel is to use various cultural influences, high and low, as cut-ups to reflect the modern psyche; constantly bombarded by information already in flux, at turns both useless and meaningful. Removed from its original context, with lines misquoted and phrases altered, this viral spread of information appears in the subconscious of the novel’s protagonist, Nathan Finewax.
Politics of the Asylum is the first in a trilogy of such novels and Adam is currently at work on the second book, which will be set on the road. Direct all correspondence through Silhouette Press.
